Its 2024. Forms are dead. Get started here.
Located at the intersection of two neighborhoods, Wellshaus was born out of a historic context. Creating a monument to the past and a new gateway to a post-industrial neighborhood, this multi-use architectural project aims to create a new layer of context.
An existing warehouse on the site, home to a meat supplier, was to be demolished in place of a new building. Instead of demolishing the historic warehouses, the design preserves the old facades allowing the new building to rise out of it, creating a dynamic relationship between old and new.
The site is organized into three parts. Most importantly, two residential buildings: a tower situated at the north end of the site, and a low-rise residential building with a courtyard in its center. Finally, tying the two together is a weaving exterior corridor lined with retail and restaurants.
