Notes on Eugene

Description

George says he got his vibe-coded Loom working and is excited to share neighborhood recommendations around Eugene, including Western Eugene, Jefferson Westside, Southeast Eugene, South Hills, Friendly, and River Road. He suggests being more cautious in Bethel, notes that Springfield and Eugene are small enough to drive across quickly, and says the area is convenient for getting out to beaches, dunes, sea lion caves, lakes, boating, camping, and the Goshen Fair. George wraps up by saying the trip should be fun and inviting the listener to enjoy the Voom.

[00:00] Hey dude. First off, I don't know if I've showed you this, but this is my vibe coded loom known as Voom. I got it working, very excited. I may have sent you a video on it, I truly can't

[00:10] remember at this point, but some neighborhoods to quickly check out. So let me switch to, it doesn't matter. We live over here on Burleston. You can see it's like right on the edge of town

[00:20] basically. And then some of the neighborhoods I mentioned are western, like anywhere in this

[00:30] area is lovely, walkable, very friendly and safe. The Jefferson Westside, like all of this, like if you are just kind of hugging the mountains here, these are all the mountains.

[00:40] If you kind of go anywhere sort of south of 18th Ave and that kind of follows the parks and this

[00:50] Amazon Drive, like Southeast Eugene is really nice. South Hills is really cute. Friendly is like really nice. It's like very quaint neighborhood basically. I moved my face.

[01:00] Just to give you kind of a sense. So like very like cute neighborhoods to be able to kind of

[01:10] park and not have to worry about anything. Everywhere is like, the whole city is like 20 minutes wide or whatever. Like if I just do Springfield, Oregon and then directions and we'll

[01:20] do, by the way, did you see the, look at the painting in Springfield, which I think is absolutely

[01:30] hilarious. You'll have to take John to see that. Anyway, Springfield and then if we do 1635

[01:40] Bertleston, it's like a freaking 19 minute drive across the whole thing. So really small. So anywhere in there. The only place I would kind of avoid is or be like more careful is Bethel is more

[01:50] of like a gentrifying kind of neighborhood. It's still getting some spillover. River Road is really nice. It's probably one of the nicer neighborhoods and it has the river and everything there.

[02:00] But on the other side of the tracks there is a little bit more questionable or a little more

[02:10] block by block. So I'd say down here is probably good. Yeah, man, this is gonna be really exciting. And then kind of zooming out, obviously, you can see we can clearly drive out of our street,

[02:20] take a left hand turn, and then just continue driving and you end up at the beach, which is super fun. So we were thinking we could go down to Florence here. And it's very like beach town.

[02:30] The giant dunes are down here, which apparently is like a lot of fun and we can take the truck

[02:40] out on the beach, which is also super fun. So if you're renting a car, maybe get an SUV. And then the other beach that we really like to go to is up here. You sort of like this is all

[02:50] kind of flat and then it goes back into along the edges. So there's like the sea lion caves,

[03:00] which we could totally go see. We've never actually done it. We've kind of I've wanted to have driven past it a few times, but there's sea lions down there, which is super cool. And then we've gone to this beach a couple times, which we really like, which is sort of down in this

[03:10] Cape. I don't know, is it bad? There's a photo of it. Yeah, a bit misty and dangerous looking, but you get the idea. There we go. Which will be kind of fun. So and that's like an hour and

[03:20] 20 minute drive or something from our place. So that can be cool. And then go in the other direction. There's this huge lake that we've checked out. There's another one up here as well.

[03:30] I think it's this one. Yeah, the water is really low in this photo, but the water comes up to this dock and you can like jump off it. And apparently there's like lots of boating and camping and stuff

[03:40] going all over the place. So that was another thing that we could check out and do. So anyway, point being, like if you guys are even in that lower portion too, it's easier to shoot out down.

[03:50] You can go to the Goshen Fair. Anyway. Okay. Exciting stuff. Enjoy this. Voom.
