Feature Pages Updates

Toro
Description

George gave a status update on the four new feature pages, saying the content is in Webflow and ready in draft, while a few missing pieces still need review or approval. He walked through proposed hero and page design directions for dispatch and order management, build plan and dispatch, order audit, billing rules, invoices, driver experience, scanning, and reporting and analytics, asking for feedback where the product details or visuals were unclear. George also noted a few specific gaps, including missing reporting assets, unclear dashboard or portal screenshots, and places where he is trying to make the pages feel more engaging without moving away from the existing branding.

[00:00] Hey folks. Happy Wednesday. So, updates here on the four new feature pages. Just kind of like status. So, where we're at.

[00:10] All of the content is on Webflow. They're all ready to go. They're set in draft. The only thing that's not there, not yet approved, is some of the missing content, which was missing in the spreadsheet.

[00:20] I did my best to kind of riff on what was like a paragraph or some longer thing.

[00:30] Just get it into the right format, but that'll need review. And then similarly, it goes like some of them are missing the video or not some. Reporting and analytics is missing.

[00:40] I can't remember what we're calling it, but basically the stat, the quote, and then the video. So, whenever we have those, those will populate in this space here.

[00:50] I also am trying to kind of shake up the site a little bit. I realize we're not really moving away from the branding yet. We kind of want to hold on that stuff. So, I'm trying to kind of make the pages a little bit more exciting if I can.

[01:00] So, I'm offering up some new hero designs as well. Just more or less like a floating, again, the floating nav, but trying to make the background have a larger image.

[01:10] To kind of paint a little bit more context around, especially some of the interfaces that are not as exciting. So, I want to go through the images here.

[01:20] That way, prior to us chatting tomorrow, we have a sense of kind of like where I'm at and what's needed. There's some options for a few things, and I've incorporated some of the feedback already that you left, Connor.

[01:30] So, yeah. So, let me just jump in. So, dispatch and order management. So, this one, like I said, all of the content is ready to go on Webflow.

[01:40] I'm offering up a new hero here, so I'd have to swap some pieces in, but it won't take very long. And then, of course, trying to kind of ping in what that might look like.

[01:50] So, for the heroes, I'm trying to get a sense of like big highway, you know, like some big rig hauling stuff. And as the kind of way that kind of contrasts like what this, you know, truck might represent, right?

[02:00] So, trying to make some sort of connection, not just make it a sort of random piece of stock imagery. And when the heroes, I'm trying to kind of like make a summary effectively of what the page is talking about.

[02:10] So, here I'm trying to show that there's the fleet map, that there's some idea about the texting of dispatch,

[02:20] and some sort of like driver truck information as well. I realize this is a little bit of taking the liberty of what it actually looks like, but you guys can push back on that. Going down to the build plan and dispatch screen, this is the one that was previously there.

[02:30] Apologies for like a couple of these are blurry. They're the ones that are currently on Webflow, and I just didn't paste the actual frame here again in Figma.

[02:40] But basically getting the idea that you can call out, you know, that you can click on one and sort of see what's next. Instead of loading different screens, being like this thing that goes to that thing and then go to that thing,

[02:50] I'm trying to use any detail view as a smaller little callout piece, or a side sheet as like a little callout just to make it a little bit easier to get things in the frame.

[03:00] So again, fair pushback there if that's too much away from the actual truth of the product. But I think it serves a purpose.

[03:10] Again, trying to get a different version of the fleet map in there with the same idea that you can kind of hover in. I realize the hover is slightly different, right, that there's not as much information.

[03:20] But for the sake of showing like the driver status and the load status, I wanted to kind of add a little bit more human element in there. When we get to the dispatch by text, this one I'm actually using the interface here.

[03:30] So I kind of had a little conversation with myself and then grabbed the screen grab of that. And of course, I'm riffing a little bit on what the thing looks like

[03:40] and then have the same message showing up here for the driver. So hopefully trying to make enough connection back and forth. That one's fairly simple.

[03:50] The video here, etc. Okay, moving on to the next one. So this one, I'd say the hero is probably struggling the most. I can use a bit more input here about like what this really feels like.

[04:00] Maybe what some of the alerts actually are. I kind of riffed this stuff out of one of the pieces of paragraph text. So there's probably something better here that can be shown or could be used.

[04:10] So definitely need some input. But you can see I'm playing with this idea that there's a difference. But you can see I'm playing with this idea that there's a kind of like

[04:20] diagramming in UI kind of format where we sort of say this thing happens and then this happens after it. We're good for automations or kind of explaining anything

[04:30] that might be a multi-step process in the product. And so then using the images in the background, just add some human element. Again, I could use instead like, you know, a full screen background for this

[04:40] if we wanted to play on that design. But for this one, I feel like it's a little bit more, a little bit tighter. For the order audit piece here, I have a couple options.

[04:50] So I have the one that was like full screen. I'm, you know, obviously taking some liberties here.

[05:30] This is a little bit brutalist for the moment, but just getting at the idea that there might be these kind of two things that connect between each other, if need be.

[05:40] For the unique billing rules, so this one, like, tough to set this one up in a way that makes it easy to understand, like, kind of what it is.

[05:50] And that might be that I'm not necessarily understanding the value of it either, but I did my best to kind of show that there's this context of, like, a huge sheet. It would be good if we had one that had better values. I couldn't necessarily find one in a staging environment, so maybe you point me in the right direction there.

[06:00] But either way, that this is then kind of, you know, trying to show that there's, like, this tight set of options that you can update the rate sheet on.

[06:10] I started to wonder if it just makes more sense to just have something that's a little bit more abstract and to just kind of show these things as, you know, like, the sort of token button pieces that kind of hover over some context image.

[06:20] So, you know, feedback needed, basically.

[06:30] The invoices, this one was pretty simple. You know, have the invoice formatting there. You can pick it and you can see kind of what's going on in the background.

[06:40] It's invoicing. I don't think it's, you know, doesn't need to be overcooked. When we get to driver experience, so this one I'm really trying to kind of paint the picture that it is about and the experience of the driver, right?

[06:50] So this person's obviously looking not too upset, but not too happy on their phone.

[07:00] And you can imagine that they are engaging in the text message conversation and that there's some, like, simple status piece here. I played with a bunch of different versions of trying to kind of get as much and as little info in here, particularly around using, like, more stuff inside this field.

[07:10] But just kind of kept reducing it down because I think it's actually nice to have the background there and the focus on the driver itself because we kind of get into the features below, obviously.

[07:20] So dispatch one showing similar to what's on the other screen or the other page, I should say, but just with a more of a connection.

[07:30] I am nerding out a little bit on this, but the person in the profile picture is actually the person shown here.

[07:40] So there is a connection between the two, which I enjoyed at least. So pay drivers on rates they can see coming.

[07:50] I struggle to find this moment in the app. The best I could kind of find is that there's this idea about the fleet map or sort of there's some route that the driver can see or knows, presumably.

[08:00] And then this, I think, would be the customer portal.

[08:10] It's probably the best view here. I don't actually think I have access to that. Or, again, it might just need a nudge in the right direction on it. I left a comment here. If you have access to that or can give me a screen grab of that, I can kind of recreate it.

[08:20] But I'm assuming that I want to show some estimated rate for the job or something to that effect.

[08:30] So let me know. And then the actual scanning piece where we're attaching the different things to the orders.

[08:40] So didn't want to use the same sort of view that we had over here, right, of like the kind of the same thing. So I was like, maybe I'll just offer up something different.

[08:50] I tried to do some mashup between like an iPhone app that's also could be on a web page like pop-up sheet using the sort of default iPhone screen with a little bit of like Adobe scan-ness in there.

[09:00] So let me know if that's the wrong direction. I didn't want to like bake it too much into what the product actually is, sort of get the idea that like there's a pile of papers that come in, you're scanning these things, and they end up somewhere.

[09:10] So, yeah. And then, okay, the last one, reporting and analytics.

[09:20] So this one I'm kind of finally showing the dashboard. I figured that was a good spot to actually show like at a high level kind of what you're getting at.

[09:30] And then this IFTA thing seems like it's one of the bigger sort of pain in the ass items that this sort of set of features addresses. So I wanted to have that up there.

[09:40] It's like a, hey, you can kind of, we were calculating and dealing with this sort of thing. Also, the first time I'm floating the idea of using the user profile, this sort of Figma-esque people floating around in the app.

[09:50] You know, I think it can add some human element, right, if I kind of like get rid of it for a second and put it in the dashboard. So, yeah. So, yeah. So, yeah.
